Just wondering if I got a good deal or not...

I've been peeking at a few of these forum topics the last couple weeks and decided to stay away from the Stoeger Condor (no matter how bad I wanted an o/u) and get a Mossberg 535 waterfoul/turkey combo. I figure, this way I get something that's at a minimum RELIABLE, which is ultimately most important IMO. I get 4 chokes, 2 barrels (28" and 23"), a stupid red dot scope that I'll probably never use and a nice camo finish. I paid 329.99 for this setup and 299.99 after rebate. So the question is, did I get ripped?

-Oh and not to mention the thing shoots 3 1/2's which is nice for geese. Not saying you need it, but its always nice to have one more piece of leverage on your side!

Also, what all is different from a 535 to an 835? thanks!

$300 for the gun you describe is a fair deal IMO. :)

I think you will be happy with the 535. Lots of folks I know own them and everyone is happy with theirs.

Rob

If you like and are happy with it, then you got a good deal! That feeling is worth whatever the difference in a few bucks makes. Enjoy your new shotgun! Put a couple thousand rounds through it and then give us a review!

Yeah I'm happy I guess, I only really paid 100 dollars more than a 500 and got an extra barrel, 3 1/2 inch chamber, more chokes, lighter gun, and camo on it.

Anybody know the difference between the 535 and the 835 though?

The 835 uses an overbored 10ga barrel on a 12ga receiver. I assume the 535 does not so it's probably lighter and can handle slugs.

Sounds like a good deal that should cover a lot of situations. Enjoy!
