I usually spend all my time on the Shotgun section of THR, but now I will probably find myself more and more in this section. I picked up a lightly used XD .45 from another HR member today (Will Learn), very good buy for me. Pleasant fella to work with if you ever get the chance to buy from him. Anyway, from what I've seen on here it looks like it's a pretty solid made pistol. After searching a bit I didn't see any range/accuracy reports and I (am ashamed to admit) am not very familiar with the .45 cartridge.
What is the optimum range and accuracy attainable with a .45 and an XD? Any information would be well appreciated.

congrats on the xd, i have 2 and i love em, i am sure that you will too, it will serve you well. You shoudl easily be able to get 3.5" and less at 25yds from a rest. My xd service model .40 shoots 4.5" at 50yds, and one hole groups 25yds and closer.
