Leupold Mark 4; Moa clicks and Mildot reticle

So, my Mark 4 4.5-14 LR/T has M1 knobs (1/4 moa clicks) and a mil dot reticle, which looking back maybe wasn't the best Idea as they are two separate forms of measurement. Also, the reticule is not on the first focal plane, so I got the idea that I can set the magnification to a certain number to change the distance from each mil dot from 1 mil radian to, say 2 moa or even 5. Is this correct thinking or fallacy? As far as I can guess, the mil dots are calibrated for 10x, so something like 6x should be around 5moa, right? I don't plan on guessing, just trying to see if my theory is correct.

Yes, in theory, it is correct.
But your scope's Mil-Dot's are only correct at 14X.
This from Leupold:
"Please note that your Mil. Dot reticle was calibrated to be used at one magnification. On the 4.5-14 use 14x."
I guess it would be 2 Mil at 9.25x?
Slightly more then 4 mil at 4.5?
But I doubt it would turn out that way in actual testing.

Ah, I see. I suppose I could have found that on my own, but that's what friends are for, right?
