1905 savage arms 22 rifel pump six round clip

I've had it since I was about 10 my uncle gave it to me he had no boys of his own he got it from his dad .Barrel has eight flat sides shoots 22 s ,long ,long r, but plate has a indain head and 1905 pat.# as is stamped on the rear sight savage arms and 1905 pat.# does any one know any thing about this gun it still shoots dead on has a six round clip and a hair trigger .I have had it around for about 40 years and never paid it much mind other than to keep it clean .I like bigger cal guns lots of bad guys around here if I put out a round I want some thing to fall down and stay there.:)

My guess is you're thinking about the Savage model 1903. Most of them had a 1906 patent date on the barrel, not 1905. The detachable box magazine held seven shots, not six. Otherwise, all else is as you describe. It is a takedown rifle with the takedown bolt on the right side. Some but not all had octagon barrels. Great guns and a personal favorite since my Grandad willed me his when I was a kid and it was my first real rifle after my Daisy Red Ryder BB gun.
It must be a model 1903. I know of no other detachable box magazine 22 pump gun from that era or any other except for a few variants Savage made.
IMHO it is a superb and collectible piece. Hold onto it.
Sorry I don't have a pic of mine, I am transitioning to a new system and I don't have all my files moved as yet. Try the centerfire forum, look under Savage and model 1903 and see if that's your gun.
