If you had these two, would you be pretty set? :)

I'm going to say that the Mateba Auto-Revolver is the ultimate semi-auto/revolver combo, actually.

I have what I consider a nice "combo". It is a Browning Baracuda revolver with 2 cylinders, a 9mm and a .357. They can be changed out very quickly by pushing a button on the left front frame.
It is one the few 9mm/.357 combos that will shoot the 9mm as accurately as the .357. Don't know what Browning did to the barrel, but it works. Built in Belgium BTW.

I'm not understanding how you get the .357 rounds to fire & cycle in your Springfield. :p

To me, it would be Ruger Redhawk in 44 Mag or 45 Colt and a Browning Hi Power in 9mm.

To achieve "ultimate" I would replace the 1911 with a more modern design.

Nice guns, but I really don't see what one has to do with the other... A better topic for the thread would maybe be.. "Hey , here's two guns that I like"
If you had these two, would you be pretty set?
Set for what ?

Katie bar the door! Heresy's been spoke and I tremble at the wrath of the disciples of St. John Moses Browning that may be unleashed ere long!

My ultimate combo, at least for EDC personal protection missions is:
Glock Model 19
S&W Model 642-1

Colt Python 2.5" - .357 Magnum
Browning Hi Power
I am not rich enough to own the Colt Python 2.5" - .357 Magnum , so I will settle for a Model 36 :neener:

I'd think either a Hi Power and Ruger SP101 in 9mm for 9mm or for .45 users, a 1911 pattern and a 1917/Model 25 revolver. In both instances, the same ammo can be used, no need to purchase separate ammo.
