When trying to post a picture in a new thread the "manage attachments" box says that the image is already used in another post.
I cannot figure out how to post the same picture in a new post. I have read the stickys and other picture helpers but cannot seem to get it done. Any suggestions?

Well, I guess I would suggest re-reading the stickies a little more carefully. The procedure is explained in the "Posting pictures" thread in the paragraph that begins, "If you want to display ...".
In addition to the procedure explained there, you can also use the ATTACH tags if you don't necessarily want your attachment to show up as an image. Copy the numerical attachmentid from the URL of your picture, and paste it between the attach tags like this:
That will yield this in your post:
Note - you can locate and review all of your attachments by clicking on Attachments in the Miscellaneous section in your "User CP" (upper left menu item at the top of every page).
I think I'll add the ATTACH instructions to the Posting Pictures thread.

http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=84576&d=1221233065Thanks Mal i'll try again. I did read the stickys several times and when I tried the suggestions I did not get the same copy image selections that it said I would get.
I did repost a picture once but had to remove it from my attachments first and the reselect it. Thanks for your help.

I have reread the stickys and this is as close as I can get to posting a photo. The first time I used the photo it shows up on the post without having to click on the link. So I give up.
But, actually there is an image icon. It looks like this:http://www.thehighroad.org/images/editor/insertimage.gif
Push that and enter the URL of your attachment. (Be sure not to double up the "http://".)

Mal I tried that and i kept getting the little box with the red X in it. It doesn't matter now. I think I can get along with what i've got now. I tried it on post # 7 and theres the little box with the x. I went back and took out the http// and it still did it. I'll keep after it. I have a new quest.
