I am going to go to a trap shoot tomorrow and I need to know what the chokes are in my winchester 24 I just inhereted it and I no little about it. I know I need to use lead shot because of the barrel. I am trying to decide which gun to take I have shot a mossberg 500 12ga the last 2 times and I would like to try this gun. But I need to know what the chokes are or I won't take it this it for a compitition and bragging rights mostly bragging rights:D. It has 30" barrels and serial# 90464 can anyone tell me the year it was made too.

Most of the 24's I have seen had full and modified chokes. It should do just fine on the clays. I can't help you on the year it was made, but I can tell you they started making them in 1939 or 1940 and yours is pretty far off from the early versions in terms of sn.

As for bragging rights...
If you havent shot it and/or patterned it, then I would stick with the gun you have been shooting. Shotguns take some time to get accustomed to and can be downright frustrating if you dont know where they shoot.
