**Are FAB 10 ARs allowed at CA. indoor/outdoor ranges?**

My local gun shop which carries the stripped FAB 10 lower told me that if a cop at a range sees a FAB 10, he might take it away from you. My local gun shop advised me to always carry receipt and DOJ letter when bringing a FAB 10 to target practice.

Well, first of all, there are a lot of legal full capacity ARs in Cali, thy're grandfathered. Secondly, I can't see where "joe blow cop" would go on a personal crusade...it would likely get more involved, with him calling in the ATF if he really wanted to be a jerk (unlikely). Thirdly, yeah, sure, have your paperwork.

The thing is, 99.999% of the time, if you just ACT like you belong, you well be left alone. Since your rifle is legal anyway, you have nothing to worry about. I'd hazard the speculation that the only harassment you'll get are from the gun-law know-it-all shooters out there that make a hobby out of annoying people.

Steve is right. You won't be bothered. Carry copies of the laws around with you if it makes you feel better.

I may actually buy one of these. At least I could re-use the upper when I escape to a free state.

The things you hear in gunstores. I know plenty of guys shooting pre-ban firearms without any hassle at local gun ranges.

What the others said.

As to indoor ranges, most don't allow rifle cartridges because they're hard on the bullet trap. Ask your range if 223 is allowed, and if not, are frangibles an acceptable substitute.
