I was at Academy last night and noticed a 1911 under the Firestorm brand. Also, saw 1911s called PXT. Never heard of either. Anyone got info on them?

I havent seen Firestorm 1911's at Academy around there. The only 1911's that my local Academy stores sell are Para LDA, Taurus PT1911, and Springfield GI.

Firestorm isn't bersa and the 1911 are no longer Llama Remember Llama is history around 2005.
The new Firestorm is made in Phillipines by Metroarms . Its a new company . Their making Firestorm 1911's and American Classic . These are same pistols except for rollmark.
Firestorm is a name They contract to Metroarms and also to Bersa for DA/SA pistols. . Like Charles Daily RIA STI Sparten are Armscore or Armscore frame& slide in case of STI.
You have a choice of a plain jane GI or a Deluxe . I have one of the first America Classic 0007x . I have fired about 500 rounds of ball and HP My slide feels like on rollers and trigger is just under 4lbs . It has not missed a beat since day I brought home.
These pistols are 1911 compatable and no silly series 80 or full length guide rods . Only grip I have is cheesey double Diamond grips. I installed Cocobolo on mine.
.
The deluxe should run 400 to 425 . Their worth every penny
I showed these at the NRA convention along with the Bersa line . Most people thought would sell for 600 to 800 .
At present still hard to find at many dealers. Reason only a few 100 a month coming in.
Will have the orginal owner Life time warrenty and service by Bersa Warrenty. .
Find out more here http://www.firestorm-sgs.com/1911.htm
and visit here several of us have the Firestorm or America classic
