Kahr CW-40 update...

Some of you may remember from older threads about my having problems with my CW-40.

First problem was that the non-load-bearing part of a frame rail (right side of pistol) was splitting.

Sent to Kahr, they replaced the frame. They also polished up my bbl feed ramp as I'd asked them to try and remove a nick that was on the far-left edge (came that way, didn't notice it when I bought it). They did that, too.

Gun returned to me with new frame. I promptly attempted to put 200 rounds through it to re-test functionality. Glad I did. Upon shooting, when I'd get to the next-to-last round in the magazine, when fired, it'd drop the mag.

VERY weird malfunction. This happened about 85% of the time within those 200 rds.

Sent it back to Kahr for this problem.

They replaced the magazine catch.

240 rounds later...all is well. I had 1 failure to feed due to my not loading the magazine correctly and the round nose-dived into the feed ramp. Also had two failures to fire out of those 240 rounds. Both were due to hard primers on Remington UMC ammo. Both rounds fired when I reloaded them. (Have heard others complain about hard primers on UMC). The initial dimples in the primers of these two rounds looked identical to the dimples on other fired casings.

And now that I know it's working 100% again... I'm selling it. :D

once you loose faith in anything, it is time to move on, be it a car, gun, lawn mower, wife, girlfriend...Now that the bugs are out of ur cw40, it will make some one a heh of a nice gun... Hope yournext gun purchase works out better..

Yep, that's exactly right.

I've lost confidence in it... Just like if I had a car break down on me on a cross-country trip. Sure, I could get it fixed to be like new, but there'd always be that "what if" in my head, even though the chances of something happening again are small.

Hopefully someone'll want to buy it after reading my full disclosure.
