I bought a Ruger 10/22 from Walmart several years ago (couldn't resist the price!), and later a friend told me that he had heard that Walmart sells off "factory seconds" that true gun shops will not sell, based on cosmetic flaws. I went over that rifle from butt to muzzle and couldn't find one defect. It is reliable, pretty (as pretty as an unmodified 10/22 can be!),
and accurate right out of the box.
