I purchased a G36 for my CCW and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I love it soooo much that I purchased a G19.

Then I purchased an Advantage Arms 22 kit for the G19.

Finally, a KWA Green Gas metal G19 airsoft pistol to practice defense positions an d drills.

I know I need a full size and I'm thinking either a G21SF or a G22.

Which one would you get and why???????????

Welcome to the dark side.

The G19 is a favorite of mine. I usually carry either a 19 or a 26.

Rather than a 22 or 21 you might want to consider a G34. It's 9mm so you can practice without going broke and it will come with a better trigger (3.5 lb vs 5.5 lb) and it will have an extended magazine release and slide release. If you decide to give IDPA or USPSA a try you'll have a gun that you can compete with for years.

I think you would be surprised at the gentle push of the G21.

I had a G19 for a while. It was a fine pistol, but it just didn't suit my needs (to large for some things, to small for others, etc.). Anyway, I'm sure it will serve you well. Mine was rock solid.

G19, G22, G23, and G26 here.

Unless you are totally in love with .45ACP, I would get the G22.

The G22 is easy to convert to 9mm and .357 sig with a conversion barrel. You can even use the same mags with the .357 sig.

My plan is to get a G30SF next. :)

I have all of them and really enjoy the 19 and the 20 the best. I just ordered another 20 today. I didn't have one with nightsights yet.

Dang, I just got rid of my Glock with a bunch of mags and some Warren Tactical night sights and a few other things.

I love my G21 and the 10 mm conversion has been very successful! ;)

We also have a G19 (Judy's) and a G17 (my primary target pistol).

All three Glocks have shown excellent reliability and durability!

Handle the G21 and G21SF, and get the one that fits you best! The uppers are identical.

Later, consider a KKM 10 mm Conversion Barrel for sixteen rounds of true .357 magnum performance!

I like my G22's. Of course I bought one of them for USPSA and the other one for a house gun. The G21SF has been calling my name, but I want to find one used- so I'll have to wait.

I love Glock's as well and would second the advice to get the Glock 34. I own the 19 (truck gun) and use a 34 as a range gun, which I have been very happy with. I was surprised at how accurate and easy to control the 34 was.

However, you asked about a 21 and 22. I would go with the 21. Ammo isn't much more on the 45 and you already have a 45. Plus I think the recoil on the 45 is easier to handle than the 40. Not that it is any lighter, just lest of a snap.

The 20/21 frame was designed to handle a larger round, where as the 22 frame was never made for 40, just 9mm. Over the years the 21 has proven to be a very durable and reliable gun. Many of the problems Glock has had have been with the model 22. Of course, that might also be because it is currently issued to more officers in the USA than any other pistol. It is a simple numbers game, the more that are issued, the more problems we will hear about.
