im looking to get a concealable holster for my Glock 23 that does not have a retention strap but still has excellent retention Ive been looking at a few Galco's. I don't want a POS holster but i cant really afford to break the bank right now. Suggestions? Comments?

I carry mine in a brown leather Gould & Goodrich IWB holster. It holds my pistol very snugly, and it completely covers the triggerguard. The top is reinforced enough that it stays open enought to re-holster the pistol one handed, if necessary. It's a little bit similar to the Galco Summer Comfort, but it just has a metal belt clip, instead of the belt loops on the Galco. I really like my holster for the money ($30), but I am still planning on getting one of Galco's Summer Comforts anyway. Just my opinion...Your mileage may vary...

I use a Galco IWB USA horsehide holster for my G19/23. It's an excellent holster and I recommend it highly.

fist ultra thin kydex iwb. I think price is about $50. Maybe a little more than you wanna spend but if so, I think it's worth the slight splurge. The material is significantly thinner than regular kydex and it feels thinner inside your waistband. I have bought one for just about every pistol I carry.

For great retention, ease of carry, and perfect concealment I would recommend Crossbreed Holsters:

These are by far the most comfortable holsters I have worn, in particular for all day carry with any size of handgun. I can wear a full size 1911 in a Crossbreed rig without noticing the weight. The distribution across the belt makes it very easy to carry a big gun. Of course the G23 will just vanish given its small size and weight.

+1 for FIST, mine cost about $35-40 for the G27.

I also am very impressed my Comp-Tac MTAC,it is very adjustable, conceals better than any other holster I have, nothing but praises for it. And they deliver well under their shipping estimate almost without fail. Cost is $80, so it isn't the cheapest holster out there, but it is tuckable, the belt loops are set off from the holster body and have five adjustment holes each, for a total of ten different ways to set your holster, it is tuckable, and you can buy new half-shells for other guns for $35 each if you want to use it for another gun later.

I have bought a lot of holsters this year, and the MTAC and FIST holsters are by far my favorites. The low-end ultra-thin kydex FIST holsters I think are unbeatable for the price.

While Galco holsters are made well, I seriously dislike their IWB designs. I find them terribly uncomfortable and there are better designs out there which aid in concealing. I hear good things about the Comp-Tac. I've inspected one, seemed good. Friend of mine carries in that. I carry in a Milt-Sparks Watch Six. Based on my holster, almost everyone I know that carries has ordered either a Watch Six or a Versa Max II.

For the price, it's very difficult to beat the cheap Glock Combat holster.

Holds the gun high & tight to the body, retains great, and costs 10 bucks!

I know Holsters can be expensive, however I've yet to find a Holster I like more than the Galco Concealable Belt Holster ( Covers the end of the barrel, too, which is nice.
