Hey guys, I've discussed this briefly in "rifles", but this is more specific, not to mention in the right forum.
I'm looking to scope a CZ 452 .22LR bolt gun, and am considering a couple scopes from them fine folks at SWFA.
First, a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 for $189, and comes with a free set of Burris binos. I know Burris by reputaion only, which I understamd to be pretty decent. This scope supposedly has fully-multi-coated lenses and a "forever" warranty.
The other is a Weaver V-series 3-9x38 for $149. This scope also has fully multi coated lenses and a "limited lifetime warranty". I already have a Weaver V7 on another .22, and am very impressed with it.
Also, am I correct in assuming that at the 25-75 ( maybe 100) yard ranges this rifle/scope would be used, that I shouldn't be concerned with the lack of parallax adjustment ? Thanks for any info/advice......M.

Suggest you go over to rimfirecentral.com and read up there. The Mueller APV is big there, I almost bought one for my 452 and now wish I had.

You would be better off buying a dedicated .22 rim-fire scope, or a high-power scope with adjustable objective.

High power scopes like the Burris or Weaver you mentioned have the parallax set at much further distance then you are likely to be shooting a .22 RF.

Most .22 scopes are set parallax free at 50 -60 yards, while high-power scopes are usually 100 - 150 yards.

Scopes with AO can be set for the exact distance you are shooting.

I'm partial to the Leupold Rimfires, around the $200.00 mark.

Ditto to above. I've got a Leupold 4x .22 scope on my Brno M2 (the 452's predecessor) and I like it a lot. Good clarity, size, and light weight. Maynard Buehler mounted the base and rings. It's a thing of beauty and a joy forever.

I have a Burris R/A 4 - 12x with target knobs on a Ruger 77/22 22 mag. I also have a Burris R/A 3 - 9x on a Ruger 10/22. two very good rimfire scopes in my opinion

Thanks for the input, guys, but after considerable research, I've moved on from these options. The low-end Burris scopes like the Fullfield,as I understand, are made in the Phillipines, and the Weaver 3-9 is less power than I've decided I now need ( though I love its little brother, the V7 2.5-7x32 on my marlin 60).
I'm now leaning heavily toward the Weaver V16 4-16x42 @ $289, probably with Warne rings.
But again, thanks to all for chiming in..................M.

If you haven't settled on a scope yet, consider spending the $$ on the Weaver T-36. All the magnification you'll need to target shoot that rifle, and the quality is excellent. I love my Muellers (excellent value) but the Weaver is about the best rimfire scope you can get.

I've got the Weaver V-16 on a .22 of my own. It's an excellent choice of glass. However, I doubt you'll be happy with the Warne rings. Simply put, they are large X heavy X ugly. You can do better, particularly on a gun that for all practical purposes has no recoil.
