Thinking about Glock 36

I've been considering buying a Glock 36 for concealed carry. From what I've read the earlier versions had some problems and Glock has issued a few recalls, etc.
I'm going to buy new, so can somebody tell me what to look for in the serial number that would suggest recent manufacture/ current generation?
I've never been a Glock fan, but I just recently stumbled upon the single stack 45 Glock 36.
Thanks for any help.

I got mine not too long after they came out. No recalls on that model to my knowledge. I've never seem one anyway. The pistol is great. Easy to carry and shoot. Get the Glock 3 1/2 # connector and replace the factory 5#. I have seen a few that were rough on the trigger pull for the first several hundred rounds, but they eventually smooth out. I also put a Hi-Viz front sight on mune and you can see it way better than the factory sight. I only have 2 complaints about mine. I reload a flat nose bullet for my 1911's and they won't feed in the 36. The bullets catch on the bottom of the feed ramp. You need to shoot ball ammo to feed reliably. The second thing is shooting Corbon +P+ loads is definitely not fun. To say it is a handfull with that load is a definite understatement. Other than that, I carry mine all the time and it is my "truck gun". You can't mess them up, they shoot lubed or dry, the just run. I definitely don't worry about it like I do my high priced 1911's. Go ahead and buy one and be happy you did.

Why would you want too... doesn't the 45 in its self have enough power for you.... Maybe you should go with a 44Mag.:)

I like my G36. The only thing that may turn some one off is the 6 rd capacity but it does work and works good too. I do recommend aftermarket sights as Glocks have poor sights(front site post way too wide) IMHO.
