got a new,Leupold rifemen muzzeloader scope. can not get it to track right.
when moveing up or down you can turn 10 marks-there is no clicks on these scopes- hash mark is 1/2" ----------so if you turn 10 marks this should raise
5"---it might only raise 1 1/2" or 3-or none. move 6 marks =3" to left-bullet went 12" left.
I am tapping scope adjustment after changeing anything to settle wires.
what am I doing wrong or missing, inadjusting this scope.
this scope is on a new T/C Omega, which was stripped cleaned first
I am use american pionner powder--80units FFFg of this under a 295 a/t powerbelt bullet.
at 25yrds this combo is a one holerx3 shotes time after time, but move to 100yds. and it falls apart.

Just from your report, it's hard to tell if there's a "problem".

If your marks are equal to 1/2 inch at 100 yards (about 1/2 MOA) then at 25 yards, 10 marks would be about 1.25 inches.

Have you fired this load enough to determine its accuracy? 80 "units" of 3F? You mean 80 grains? Have you shot for group without the scope? What is your average, 5-shot group size? Not your best, but your average.

If one is just starting out, it's almost impossible at first to know what's happening. You need a base line, such as, "With this rifle I have consistently fired five-shot groups of X inches at 100 yards, and now I'm getting groups of 2X at 100. There you have a definite problem.

If this is your first rifle, or even if it's your first muzzle-loader, and you've never fired it before to get some sort of baseline, then it's impossible to say what's going on. I'd shoot it with iron sights to start with, from a bench at 25 to 50 yards, and see what loads and such give the best groups. Then put on the scope and dial it in. Your groups should be as good, or slightly better, at 50 yards with the scope. If it doesn't have iron sights, I'd make sure the scope was on good and solid, then I wouldn't be the slightest bit interested in scope adjustments as long as it's hitting the paper. Find your best load combination, and only then should you worry about getting a good zero on the scope.

Work on one variable at a time.

You might try posting this in the black powder section. There you will find people with the same rifle, who might recommend a good load for it, etc..

Also you say your 25 yard, one-hole group "falls apart" at 100, but you don't give your group size. Well, all groups "fall apart" to some extent (which is to say they get larger) at greater distances, so on its face it means nothing. We'll need some empirical data. If your 25 yard group is one inch, you'd expect a group of at least 4" at 100, which would be excellent. If it's 6 or 8" at 100 yards, you're actually doing fair-to-middlin for a muzzleloader.
