I think i read with air rifles limited cleaning is needed.

Only when you first get it. And only with a clean patch.
NO oil/Cleaner on the patch.
Just when you see accuracy start to fall off you can run a patch of hopes. VERY light coat..Remember LIGHT.
Then a patch of alcohol to break the oil from the metal.
Then as many DRY patches as it take to get it dry.
Other wise there is no need.
Oils of any kind in a barrel of an air rifle tend to hurt accuracy.
And with that said, I've shot well over 7,500 rounds in my rifle.
And it has NOT needed cleaning.
Actually it needs about 500 rounds to properly "foul" in.
So until at LEAST 200 shots expect to get a little shift in groups.
Best advise is to NEVER clean the bore, unless you have a GOOD reason.

If you need to clean the bore use a non-petroleum or flammable based cleaner. The use of any petroleum based residue in the barrel, chamber area can ignite (diesel) from the high temp. compressed air developed in the piston and cylinder and damage fragile seals in the pistol.

The best advice I can offer is to follow the instructions in the owner's manual. If you don't have one, most manufacturers will gladly send you a copy if you'll ask. All it takes is the model number and a request.
