What does anyone know about a Mossberg 535. Is it a decent gun? It has a 22" barrel and will shoot 2 3/4, 3 and 3 1/2 shells. I was thinking about buying a slug barrel for it, but I need to know where to get a barrel at a reasonable price. It is black synthetic and when I went on the Mossberg website I could only find a camo version. It also came with a imp. and .670 xxf turkey choke. I shot it this past Sunday and I like it but I bought it not knowing anything about it which is not smart, but I got it in 95% condition for $150 and I thought that was fair. It also has red rear sights and green front sights.

Steve. Sounds like you got a deal at 150.00.
The 535 is basically a 3.5" chambered 500 IIRC. The original 3.5" gun is the 835 which has an overbored (nearly 10 ga) barrel. The 535's barrel is of standard dimension. I believe that the 535 also uses the model 500 barrel retention system as oposed to the 835/590 system.
For barrels you can try the usual suspects, midway, brownell's, etc.
There's also:

I'd just do a google search for what you are looking for and go with the best price found that way.

Hey guys thanks for the assurance. RRR if I remember correctly you are in my area. I am joining the Alamance wildlife club and they have an archery, skeet, pistol and rifle range. If you are interested let me know. I think I have to go to a couple more monthly meetings before I can join though.

I live about 7 miles from the club.
I'm currently a member at Buckhorn Gun Club in Mebane, but I'm seriously considering joining up at DPRC soon.
