I purchased a bracelet from this company around April or May of this year. It reads "Support Our Troops. Never Forget Sept. 11, 2001." (Shoulda gotten "I Support Our Troops," but oh well...)

I have worn it with much pride every single day since then. I feel that it has done its job extremely well: It serves as a constant reminder to me that I sit here in America happy and safe because there are so many fine, brave men who are putting themselves in harm's way to provide me and all Americans with Freedom and safety.

I tend to notice it the most and think of our brave troops and their sacrifices when I am having fun. I'll be out partying, drinking with friends, etc. and the bracelet will catch my attention. I'll pause for a moment and think of our brave men sleeping out in the elements, braving gunfire and bombs, not knowing if or when they will see their families again, all so that I have the safety and freedom to be doing whatever it is I may be doing at that particular moment.

The best purpose that I believe this bracelet serves is that it acts as a reminder and conversation piece for others.

I have no way of knowing how many people have noticed and appreciated my bracelet without saying anything to me. Perhaps it helped them remember a lost loved one or our brave men.

My bracelet has sparked several conversations with strangers and friends. Once, I was sitting at an In n Out having lunch when a nice gentleman and his uncle sitting next to me sparked up a conversation. It turns out he was a Marine Cobra pilot. He noticed my bracelet, read it and said, "Well, God bless you!"

I promptly thanked him again for his service.

Things like this are why I wear my bracelet with pride. It is a constant reminder to me, and I hope to others, of the Americans lost on 9/11 and the many men who have given their lives since then.

I thought some of you may appreciate this link in light of the upcoming anniversary.

NEVER FORGET!

Drjones. I too wear a POW/MIA bracelet. The same soldier in my signature line from Vietnam.

I can honestly say that I put John's bracelet on my wrist June 1983 and has not been off yet.

It's just something I truly believe in whole heartedly. Almost lost a job in 1998 for refusing to take it off. The H.R. nut-job backed down when the other employees found out that she did not think remembering was appropriate.

I quit later that year.

Any way. just to let you know, your link is bad. Here is the fixed link.

Are there any companies that still make POW/MIA bracelets? I used to see them all the time as a kid, but now, I don't see them anymore.
