Northern Maine Deer Hunting

I have a camp in "the county" and have hunted there each fall for the last 5 years. This year I'm thinking of scrapping my deer hunting and going for coyotes only in the fall due to the massive deer kill last winter (shhhhh, don't tell Al Gore- oh wait, global warming causes it to be extremely cold too). Anyone else passing on the deer season this year, or am I just being too pessimistic?

Salthouse- between coyotes, bears, and heavy winters the deer are in trouble in the northern county areas, if one is to believe the articles in the local outdoor journals.

I live just south of the "county", and we are overrun with bears and coyotes, though I still see deer frequently in the yard. If I get time to hunt this year it will be for bear and coyote.

Salthouse: I live and hunt in Northern Maine. I am afraid that we will have a pretty sparse harvest this season. Last winter was one of the very worst ever in terms of decimating the local deer herd. I think you are making a wise decision.
