I've got a Howa Hogue Long Action (.30-06) that I'm looking to mount a 2-7 power scope onto. This rifle has an extra 1/4 inch or so longer length of pull than most of the rugers, remmys, and winchesters out there. I've had trouble with certain scopes (i.e. Burris Fullfield II) that didn't have enough length of tube and eye relief to fit correctly (I was all humped over the stock trying to get a decent sight picture). I'm wondering what folks out there are using as 2-7s on their long action rifles. I prefer this scopes of this power as they are a hair lighter and more compact... I personally don't feel the need for a nine power scope to hit deer at reasonable ranges or punch smallish groups in paper all day. I don't want to go buy a 2-7 power scope on Ebay or Midway only to have to return or resell the item when it doesn't "fit"... BTW, I'm using Leupold STD rings. The Howa rifle uses the same exact bases as the Remington 700 (same "upper" reciever shape). Thanks.
