Anybody own or hunted with one? I shot 612 VS Camo the other day, seems like a nice shotgun.

I have the 12 gauge 712, which is the same as the 612 except for the receiver shapes. 28" barrel, very sweet gun. I paid $550 shipped for mine, only had 500 shells through it, looked brand new. Money well spent vs spending twice as much on a Beretta 390/391 series gun for clay shooting.

The 48 is an upland hunter's dream come true. I have both the Remington and the 48. That Remington is a fine shooter, but it gets awful heavy during an afternoon walk through the uplands. Both are fine shooters. If most of your shooting is still, then the Remington. If you walk and hunt, then I recommend the Franchi. The 48, IMO, is the last great gun made by Franchi. You can tote that Franchi all day without getting tired. The Remington will get mighty heavy on a long walk.
Take your pick. Both are mighty fine guns.

I own several Franchi 612s. Very nice guns, quite light for a gas-operated semi. I think they're out of production now.

Thanks Chris. I have never owned a Franchi. I was surprised how light the recoil was on the 612 I shot.

Yes, my other buddies recomend the Franchi since its lighter for hunting, walk & shoot for birds and maybe wild pigs. However the Remington mod 11 is also a fine shooter. thankyou
