Lets demand that NRA to establish a set of REASONABLE, WORKABLE, UNIFORM rules and procedures for taking firearms with you in checked baggage by common carrier, such as airlines, trains, boats, etc., AND GET the airlines and the TSA to agree to follow them and consistently apply those rules (with no "secret" additions, subtractions, or changes).

Remember when NRA's new President Kayne B. Robinson promised us that if we voted Republican and G. W. Bush was elected, NRA would have a chair in the Oval Office? They don't need to be that close to accomplish this. But a call from GW to the TSA secretary and to the CEO's of the major airlines would work wonders.

Call Wayne LaPierre and tell him you want this done before the Holiday travel season. His office number is (703) 267-1020. Give him a jingle.

NRA members LEGALLY traveling with LEGAL firearms shouldn't have their business trip or vacation ruined at the whim of some petty bureaucrat, ticket agent or baggage handler.

If we're discussing flying pigs, I'd rather see the NRA back an effort to get the weapons-must-be-checked policy removed. mp5 in a backpack? Switchblade? Cane sword? No problem.

"It is time for NRA to act."

That's a good one.

When, really, have they done JS to "protect your right to keep & bear?" When? & please do show me. Examples, w/details, please.

These folks have, just as much as have the Repubs, sold you down the river solely to allow themselves to remain in the drivers' seat while pulling in your dollars & when it don't play in Pertoria ;) , they'll merely ask for more money to continue the same damned thing.

Bush, Our Fave, is In Charge, with his hosts of Repubs & what do we get? Ascroft with his endorsement of The Second! "within reasonable restrictions." " .... phantoms of lost liberties ... "

Good grief! If we ever get back what the second ever said, the NRA is out of business.

Ya hear that? Business! They're in business to fight this mess & if it's ever fixed, they are out of business.

Ya think they want that to end?

:banghead:

The sooner the NRA is put out of business (do note that phrase), & we actually take control over our government, the better.

You know what to do.
