Hi there,
I'm in the market for a new knife, and a couple days ago, I googled something and this site popped up. Since then, I've had 0% productivity this weekend... lots of info here.
Something I could find though, is if anybody has noticed the change in kershaw serrations..
I've 2 leeks, but I only loved one of them. I had one, lost it, and got another(from the same place), but the 2nd's serrations were more uniform, like a saw blade, and not so much varied. If you look around on vendor's sites, look at pictures of their leeks, and you'll see the difference.

I know they are different knives, but you'll see what I mean about the serrations.
I dont like the new serration, and it seemed to wear down very quickly. Also the speed safe didn't seem to work as well on the 2nd one either, the blade got very sticky despite cleanings and oilings.
Why did they change it? Or is it just luck of the draw
Anyway, I'm in the market for another knife. I like the blur, and the shallot- the grip of the blur, but the design and style of the shallot. Basically I wish the shallot blade had the handle(grip) of the blur..
If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears. Basic use knife: outdoor, hospitality(work behind the bar), labor, and anything that needs cutting use. I'm a lefty, so I'm particular to the speedsafe of kershaw. Looking for a folder, and a blade no less than 3", no more than 4". I felt the leek blade was a bit short.. but that was with serrations, and I'm open to a non serrated knife this time. I would go for the junkyard dog, but its a bit too heavy. I would like to stay under 60$. Am I being too picky, should I just go for the shallot?
I'm sure a post like this will pop up soon on the handgun section as well. I'd like to purchase my first sidearm within a few months too. Planning my concealed permit license next month.
