Whats the best lube for screw in choke tubes? I noticed Remington packaging a bottle of Rem-Oil with their extra choke tubes,I always was under the impression that they should be lubed with a grease of some sort.
Thanks Melvin:confused:

I've never had any problems just using a drop of Rem oil or CLP on the threads.

Whatever's handy...
I think I have RIG Grease, and Formula 3,respectfully on two within arms reach right now. Have also used STOS (tm) [slicker than owl stuff *],Super Oil (tm) machine oil, and Valvoline 2 cycle oil...it was handy....no ratio -just drip, screw and shoot....

CLP, SLIP 2000, Remoil, GI oil, 30 weight and beeswax are some of the ones I've used. No complaints, the beeswax is a hair tacky and may stop thread creep.

Rig +P Stainless Steel Grease. Choke tubes should be greased or anti-siezed.

Brownell's Action Lube Plus. It's a moly based grease.

Thanks for the replies, guess I'll use the Rem-Oil I already have on hand.
Thanks again Melvin :D

Birchwood Casey makes a choke tube lube that looks a lot like the anti-seize used on automobile spark plugs. Works for me.
