take the nipple off add few grains of powder then fire. If your at home you can even try lighter fluid i would do this before anything.

Just relax i know it can be very frustrating. next time use a smaller patch. you may have had too much period. You may also may want to get a can of carb cleaner with the nozzle and spray hard in the nipple. your problem is too large a patch, too much bore butter, along with the fouling means its just stuck. spraying the carb cleaner. The cleaner comes out in a hard burst and can loosen up around the jag. Remember to just use a smaller amount of bore butter and a smaller patch next time. It happens

This sounds like a shoulder in the bore, in front of the breech plug, that needs to be addressed by a gunsmith.

Something else that will work well on a stuck cleaning patch and jag ...first ...don`t get excited ..this happens ....If you`ll just pour a little water in the barrel around the stuck rod and jag ...it will loosen it up and normally come right out after it soaks into the patch .
oh yea almost forgot ...welcome Rob.

Rob,
Sometimes when the breech plug is not snug up against the rifling there will be some threads between the head of the plug and the start of the rifling, I had a rifle that was bad about "grabbing patches" and this was the case. If possible be sure to use a long loading rod, not practical in the field, that will give you more to grasp on to. A shooting friend, you holding the rifle and him holding the ram rod, is useful also.

Good Luck
Clint
