Why IBTL?
It's a fine firearm with an unusual choice of engraved scenarios.

yeah, that's weird. the guy who had that done is weird. The guy who did it for him is a little weird by association. Atleast no body has big on it yet.

Wow, the mods must be sleeping still. They're usually pretty uptight about things like this. In one of my previous threads, somebody simply mentioned the word porn, and it got closed.

Subject matter aside, that is not very good engraving. Might even be etching finished out with a graver. The coarse scroll is ok for a hunting rifle, but nothing special. Jason G. is right. The figures, animal, human, and mythical, are quite crude. About what you would expect a Russian gangster to like.
There is a site somewhere out there with Italian bullino shotgun engraving of very lifelike critters and an Artemis who is a BABE and no fooling.
Found it, Fabbri Fantasy models, one of several at:
http://www.fabbri.it/Engraving%2084S4.htm
Not as nekkid, but far better drawn.

Sorta like our government: Take something with intrinsic value. Scribble on it, lowering the value.
Like paper, calling it "money".
In this case, a nice rifle...

Definitely an odd choice of engraving. I have to agree with Jim Watson, it wasn't done very well. Details are lacking, proportions are off, etc. I wonder if the owner couldn't find anyone reputable who was willing to do the work...

Yes it does. I find it oddly intriguing - still wouldn't pay more than about $2,500 for the pair though, so I wish them luck with the asking price.

The engraving on the gun in the OP looks amazingly like the art in a comic called Ironwood, by Bill Willingham. It was sort of a porno-comic. This was about the only pic I could find without scanning in a page from a book. Anyway, it was not Willingham's best work. Pretty much just an excuse to draw nekid ladies.

That Steyr is, to put it nicely, um .. interesting.
Thanks for the chuckle, atblis :)
Aside from the 'frolicking characters', the other gravings seem nicely finished.

From the gunbroker blurb:
"These rifles were commissioned by at the time Russia's wealthiest person who recieved 9 years in prison for reasons people say were not true. This person has been on US's Sixty Minutes tv show. "
Sounds like it belonged to this guy:
