Is this a bad idea?

I bought a S&W Model 58 a while back. With the exception of some holster wear around the muzzle and cylinder it is in very good condition. I've done a little shooting with it but haven't had the time or components to do any reloading yet. I bought it to carry while hunting and for general woods bumming.
I am considering trading it for a 629 Mountain Gun. I am establilshed in reloading for the .44 and am wondering if the MG wouldn't suit my purposes better.
I don't have a gun lined up for a trade, just thinking on it for now.
Opinions? Offers?

Not a bad trade if the 58 means nothing as a collector to you, I dearly wish I had a 629 Mt gun to trade.
I only have a Taurus Tracker in 45 colt for trade right now.

I'm definitely a user, not a collector. I like to shoot them!

The .41 will do pretty much everthing the .44 will do.
The drawbacks are, of course, less preloaded ammo and tougher to find reloading supplies, or a variety there-of.

You most likely won't get a heads up trade, so balance the lost against the price of dies, shell holder/plate, cases, and bullets and see what wins out.
I'm biased for the .41, but that is one way to see if you are getting your money's worth.

Check the FS section if you are interested in the 58.

I happened upon a very nice 4" 629 in like new condition for a price I couldn't refuse.
I decided to let the M 58 go. I've never sold a gun so fast! Lots of demand for that piece.
The buyer seemed very happy with his purchase, and I am definitely happy with mine! Off to the range this weekend. :D
