Just picked up a stainless Ruger Speed Six in 9mm plus moonclips. Have never shot one before. Is there any tricks or fine points of which I should be aware? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

No tricks. Just go out & shoot it. :)

Tricks? Just enjoy it and be the envy of your friends and neighbors. Those guns are getting harder to find. I really like mine. :D

I have the S&W 9mm j frame.

The only trick I can think of is that there is a tool to remove the shells from the moon clips that is really handy. It will make removal easy and prevent you from bending a moon clip.

Other than that, enjoy.

Since I live in your vicinity, gotta know something: Was this a 2-3/4" barrel, or one of the super-rare 4" guns? Been looking for a 4" tube for a long time; if that's what you found I hope I don't hurt myself slapping my forehead in jealous frustration...;)

Stop slapping, it was a 2 3/4" barrel. Sorry! There was a 4" barrel on auction arms about 3-4 months ago, went for under $400. I think it was listed as a "service six" 9mm. I will keep an eye out for the 4" model
