The title says it all, having recently aquired a no dash P&R 629 myself I have been watching the prices on Gun broker and I came across this one which has 11 bids and is going for 1500, so far. Is the 4" 1981 especially rare?? My Supica Standard Catalog guide doesnt mention that the 4" goes for a premium.

Be aware that Gunbroker gets some folks with too much money, and not much common sense. If they want something bad enough the bidding can go out of sight. The 629 in 4" isn't rare, but it doesn't often show up for sale, as owners that have them tend to keep them. Also the P&R versions do draw some extra bucks. I suggest you watch this as well as other auctions, and average the going prices.

Go to www.armsbid.com and research past auction results. Hopefully somewhere in there you will find some more 629/4" sales.

Because that's the gun that Dad had and my brother sold without telling me. So I want one just like it. I have several guns like that. That as good a reason as any.

There were very few 629s without the -1. I'd call that a keeper.

I picked up a 629 dash nothing with a 6 inch barrel several months ago. I went to pick up the Kimber that was waiting for me and it was just sitting in the used gun counter. I paid $400 for it and was pleased that it even came with the original box.

As stated earlier, there are very few 629's that were P&R. I'd love to have one.
