When I was in college a local gunshop had an L.A.R. Grizzly 45WIN MAG in hard chrome with a 6.5" barrel. I still wish I could have found $1200.00 for it. It was very cool. Wish they still made them.:(

This gun Savage model 1907 pistol really appeals to me both in form and function. Mine dates from 1909, and is the coolest gun in my collection.
Thirty-two auto, double stack 10 round magazine, semi-locked breech design, beautiful art deco lines.
All of us have different definitions of cool, to be sure . . .

Whites Truck Stop on I-81 between Roanoke and Winchester has an old pepper box "revolver". Actually, they have a few pepperboxes. But the one I am thinking about was freakin huge! The cylinders look big enough to swallow an entire 3.5" 12 guage super mag. I think there's about 6 of them (could've been more). The stag horn grip is huge (looked to be about 2" in diameter at the base) and it seems like the whole thing was about 10"-12" long. It looked something like this, but was much much bigger and prettier.

It looked like something straight out of a pirate movie. I'd hate to even thing about how much it would cost. Next time I'm up there, I'll try to take a picture of it for you guys. White's also has one of the biggest Luger Collections that is open to the public on the East Coast. Snail Magazines, orginal luger carbines, you name it, they got it (except for a.45 that is).

And I own a Pasadena version, NIB, never fired, original shipping box and original paperwork. It is a dream to handle, but I have not a clue what it is like to fire it.

I once saw a six-inch Colt Python that was completely covered with extremely fine engraving and gold wire and foil work, and fitted with ivory stocks. It was the prettiest gun I've ever seen–and miles beyond my means.

Pasadena Auto Mag.. always wanted one, never could afford one. Need that big lotto check ;).
And you know what, I never thought of a Savage 32 as Deco, but that is spot-on, the streamlining details are very 'modern', kinda Buck Rogers.
Ok this was so cool I went out and built my own. Found at a gun show: factory custom Colt 38 super withs a Seecamp DA trigger. It was a 50's vintage pistol, and it was a steal at $650. Of course, I didn't have $650. Luckily I found an ODI/Viking frame kit at gun parts. $200 or so, bought it. Got a complete Colt 1991 upper, barrel, bushing, springs, everything. $200. from Hoplite I think. Wilson beavertail & extended safety, screws, springs etc. $150, Assembly $200, Action job $100. You do the math. What I got was a tacti-cool franken Colt that somehow feels twice as wide, twice as heavy, and lord is that DA trigger pull a bear. I'm guessing I've got something like $900 or so in it, but like Johnny Cash I got it one piece at a time...

Um...gee, I dunno. Coolest gun I have ever personally seen?
Um...PSG-1, MP5-SD, PSG-1, Barret Mod 82A1 for rifle/subguns.

the mini-gun Jesse Ventura used in "Predator"
Semi practical...Quigley's Sharps. Something about an iron sighted gun that's good to 800 yards....and has a bullet the size of a melon. Besides, I have a BPCR in .45-90.
Tom Selleck and I could be twins if I were 8 inches taller and a lot better looking.:D
Handguns...believe it or not, mebbe a Colt Walker. More power than a Dirty Harry .44 . The original magnum?

A .45 ACP Luger.
The next best thing, a .45 ACP Broomhandle Mauser. This one I've got, and side by side with my Bolo 7.63, it makes the Bolshevik Special liook like a pocket pistol.
Big Honkin' Colt New Service revolvers look like a revolver should look. (N-frames notwithstanding!)
Big-bore long-barreled Mateba auto-revo's are mucho-cool also.
The Automag III, and it's bigger, fatter brother, the Automag V, are both really cool LOOKING guns. AMT's are AMT's however, which robs them of some of their presence. MY A-m-3 is profoundly reliable, however, and one of my all-time favorite guns.

Just after WW2, there was a French (:barf: ) submachinegun called the "PM9" which used one of the neatest actions I've ever seen; it used a rotating flywheel with a lug in it to drive the bolt forward, and that lug struck a firing-pin in the bolt to fire the cartridge. Since the axis of the bolt was just above the rotational axis of the flywheel, the mechanical advantage of the flywheel kept the action closed until pressures had dropped to a safe level. Since the flywheel was only ~2" across, this meant that the entire submachinegun could be folded up into a package about 13" long. From a mechanical standpoint, that would have to be my choice.

The coolest gun I ever saw was an original Walker Colt. The owner was kind enough to let me handle it too!!! He also had a bunch of Wincester '92 that had previously been owned by movie/tv studios and used in movies. But that Walker was really something special.

Coolest gun I ever saw: this doesn't qualify for the handgun forum, but hands down it has to the brace of gatling guns on the AC-130.
Coolest gun I ever fired: toss-up: MAC-10 (really!) (what a BLAST to shoot!)
or a Ruger AC556- (God, I loved watching the "A-Team"!)
