Hi, I'm new to this form and I have a qusetion. Does anybody have any experience with a Winchester Select o/u shotgun? Looking at buying one and want to know how well do they hold up? It looks like it hinges like a Beretta. How does it compare to a Beretta or Browing Citori? Thanks in advance for any info provided.

I bought a Winchester Select Platinum Sporting about six months ago. I'm a casual trap and skeet shooter averaging about 150 rounds a month. It has been very reliable with no malfunctions of any kind.
In my opinion, the fit and finish are very good. The gun locks up tight and the barrels are a highly polished deep blue. My only complaint is the wood is just so-so. For a shotgun that retails for $2600, I was expecting a bit nicer grain.
Shotgun Sports reviewed the Select Platinum in their January 2008 issue. You might try and pick up an old copy. The author talks about the design and overall is very complimentary in his evaluation.

Thanks for the imput. I plan on using it for dove, quail and an occasional phesent hunt as well as recreational skeet. During the bird seasons I go through about a flat of shells in a month, just wondering how long it will last.
