I'm sorry to say this but I am betting this is a photo shopped fraud like many that are shown on the www.

Then you are indeed sorry . . . Washington Governor's Tag draw this year . . . harvested by the lucky fellow in the MillCreek Drainage of SE WA . . . truly rugged country. The following is from the e-mail I received:

I thought you would all find these Pics of the 466" Washington's Governors Tag bull very interesting. It is being called the "Bird Bath" elk.
The person who took these photos had an opportunity of a lifetime this last week and got to be a part of the hunt for this Washington giant. The hunter was Dan Agnew from Vancouver. The bull is a 9x10, with a green score of 450" plus. It will be the new WA state record.

Also included are a couple of photos of the elk, alive from across the canyon.

Pretty darn good job of photoshopping . . .but, I understand your initial doubt. Believe what you want to; I didn't shoot it (tho I wish I had).

This one from my home state this year . . . and I've known the guide since he was crawling & the area they were hunting even better (and also put him on his first ever bull, a fine 6x6) . . .

"This was a 71 year old archery hunter I guided in Montana. First shot at 40+ yards 45 minutes into the first day of the hunt....was a poor hit.
Killing shot at ten yards the morning of the fifth day.....pure luck finding him let alone still alive. Final score was 404 1/8."
