questions about casting in 9mm &.38

I'm researching bullet casting and trying to figure if this is something I want to get into. I have several questions that I haven't been able to get any clear answers on.
1. Can cast bullets be used straight out of the mould or do they all need to be sized in a die first?
2. Do cast bullets used for pistol calibers need to have a gas check added to them?
3. Are there sizing dies that can be used in a reloading press instead of having to buy a deticated machine for it?
Thanks,

Lee makes moulds for bullets intended to be dip lubed and shot as cast.
You do not need a gas check unless trying to use a soft bullet at high velocity.
Lee makes a sizing die that goes in the loading press. Cheap, but you have to dip or pan lube separately.

1. Not all cast bullets have to be sized, and some people prefer not to for certain calibres/firearms (depending if loaded rounds will chamber easily, but it's best to assume you will size them if your new to casting)
2. Only bullets loaded in magnum type calibres usually need gaschecks, when they pushed up over ~1100fps, but not needed for lower target type loads.
3. LEE has sizing dies for use with tumble lubing your bullets. I prefer to tumble lube bullets as the entire bullet gets coated, even though it can get a little messy.
Some have mentioned Rooster Jacket, which solve the mess issue, but i haven't tried it yet at this time.

Many cast bullets will shoot pretty well without sizing, but the Lee tumble lube bullets were designed for just that. They would be a good choice if you do not want to size bullets. Lube with Rooster Jacket, or Lee Liquid Alox.
