42, Wild.

Any shooting is fun, but my first time with the M2 was the best.

An original Thompson, 50 round drum. Followed closely by the MP5/ 10 and 9mm versions.

Just an ol plain jane M16A1.

During a night shoot some of the non gunny types didn't want to shoot up all the extra ammo. I got to burn full auto until I couldn't stand to hold the weapon any longer and the gas tube was cherry red and smoking. :D

Any of you guys seen the "Kill the AK' video, where the shooter just pummels the living heck out of his AK with mag after mag after mag full auto until the handguard burns?

No 34, the rate on a 34 is faster than a 42...

Small Arms Of The World

MG34 Cyclic Rate: 800-900 r.p.m.

MG42 Cyclic Rate: 1100-1200 r.p.m.

Oops your right I stand corrected, altho the 34 seemed darn fast to me (Ive never shot a 42)

My H&K MP5SD of course! :) No recoil, no muzzle flash, no noise, no problems.

A showdown between a 21/28 overstamp navy Modle Thompson and a M2 carbine.
The only FA that was just not fun was a M3 "Grease Gun"

Full Auto is simply a way of converting money into noise....
:neener:

However, when its the 'Gubmints' money, yeeehaaaa!
My personal favorite is the M249 SAW. Easy to control, pretty accurate, and light enough even my house-mouse size frame can hump it. If I had any full auto, it would be the SAW.
:D

I also enjoyed the Mk19 (How could any red blooded American Male not?!? :neener: )
http://www.hqmc.usmc.mil/factfile.nsf/7e931335d515626a8525628100676e0c/9867a7c6f72a0ad08525627c006cb4ef/$FILE/MK19MOD3.JPG
And the M2 was a serious wood-inducing unit

I've shot an M16A1, didn't care much for it. Shot a full auto AK.
What I really really want to shoot is a
UMP (http://www.hecklerkoch-usa.com/pages/military/ump.html) .

I agree.. :D Some guy was selling a transferrable mini Mi/ M249SAW for 80+ grand, I believe it is the only transferrable SAW in the NFA registry, save for a few pre-86 dealer SAW going for 60+ grand.

#1 A friend's Colt M1921 with 100 rd drum . Heavy but so easy to control .

#2 My BSA M1914 .303 Lewis Gun .

#3 My Colt M16 Commando with the .22 conversion and Aimpoint . You can almost stitch your name in the target .

I forgot to mention an M14. The one I could not stand was a Mac 10. Suppressor covered the sights.

I have never shot a full auto.:(

I had a Jennings J-22 that would do 2-3 round bursts on occasion. Does that count?:D

Don't laugh . . . that BB gun target shooting game you see at local carnivals.

All of them have been fun, but one of the funnest was a converted Gevarm A-1 22 rifle; open bolt, with a cyclic rate around 1400 rpm:) The only bad part was loading the 30-round mag until my fingers were bleeding.

And the M2 was a serious wood-inducing unit

When you get her running smooth oh yeah!

But when you get one that won't act right you got some work on your hands working that charging handle!

I'd love to be on a Vulcan when they lit up a target! Used to hear those things all the time. They sounded like a giant dragon. Talk about psychological factors affecting the enemy!

Dragon? Red, you have a better imagination. I always though "band saw like in 8th grade wood shop".:)

Hey..when you are in the deep dark woods of Georgia and that thing starts up. Talk about noise. You can hear it echoing through the swamp.

When we were in Iraq our division Field Train had a Vulcan on the hilltop protecting them. Talk about a mad dog if angered!:D

I have had fun firing every full-auto weapon which I have fired...but if I must pick one as "most fun" it would probably be my buddy's M1917 Browning water-cooled MG.

I fired another buddy's M1928 Thompson before he even fired it...the first day he had it!

A Quad-.50 is a hoot. M16s are fun, but then, almost any full-auto is neat. The good old Tommy-gun, or an M2 Carbine...

I'd love to be able to afford a halftrack with a Quad-.50 bucket--and a boxcar load of ammo and a bunch of spare barrels...There's a fully restored rig out at Fort Bliss I want to go see. And, a stained glass window commemorating the 50th AAA Battalion's Korean service.

I've shot most of the standard military auto wepons there is and love it but the best is shooting a post-ban AR or AK without nay form of modification on full auto. My bushmaster can rock by trigger manipulation. I cant shoot full auto off the shoulder yet (its hard to get it right, I'm still shooting off the hip) but I have a buddy that can put his AK (post-ban) or my AR to his shoulder and shoot full auto. I'm not talking about pulling the trigger as fast as you can either. Full auto thats legal (no mods whatsoever) without having to pay the $200 and waiting 5+ weeks to get the OK.

The absolute weirdest I've ever seen was called a "spudder". Was a sten gun, stripped of all but the tube and bolt. No trigger, just pull back the bolt and let fly. Made by someone in Arizona I believe and never classified by ATF, thus never sold on the market.

I've only fired one... a supressed select fire 10/22...sounded like you were holding a panicky moth against your ear lobe. Mucho cool and you could afford to feed it lots of ammo.:D

249 Saw is great. We were instructed to fire 6-9 round bursts, but I made it a point of pride to fire my belt in 3-rd bursts when the drill sgts handed my belt of ammo to me. :) Accurate, too.

240B will bring you a new level of cosmic awareness, when it opens up on you from ambush.

Gotta admit that the 'ole M16 is a lot of fun to use...when it works. :( Most fun so far is probably the M4, but I'd love to have an M2 Carbine.

The only two I've shot were the ones I thought would probably be the best, and I did think both were awesome:

1. SPAS auto 12 guage. That sucker was something.

2. Maxim 1910 Soviet MG. Neato!!

Ok, Guy, I've got a question on the Bren. I've always been intrigued by those, but never got to see one up close. I'm sure the sights must be offset so one can see past the magazine. Which side are they mounted on?

Pappy ,
The sights are set on the LH side for a right handed hold . I think the Bren was possibly the best squad gun of WWII .
