Working on a round that will have similar case capacity and performance to a 224 Weatherby and/or 22-250.

Point being, at 224 Weatherby velocities with a given bullet weight, just how heavy will I be able to go given a 1:10 twist choice?

I figure 65 grain bullets for sure, but would be even happier if it'll stabilize 70+ grain bullets well. Anyone with more experience than I able to help me on this one? First jump into 22 centerfire, have a lot of calibers but all bigger. So it's a little bit of a deep step :)

At the speeds that rifle should be capable of...I'd say 70 grains for sure...possibly 75.

It all depends on the bullet shape and length. A heavier flat base bullet should stabilize better than a long VLD type boattail. You just have to try different types, the old fashion way. With the velocity potential, as you suggest, a 68-69gr HP boatail may be ticket.

http://www.sierrabullets.com/index.cfm?section=bullets&page=rifle&caliberID=3 Go to the Sierra website. click on the 22cal bullets number (1380) of your choice, SOME will give you the twist that the bullet will work with. Go to Bergers site, 2 bullets there for long range, 1-9, but will work in a 1-10 twist http://www.bergerbullets.com/the 70gr vld will work, not sure about the 75gr.
