The horror...

This poor Mauser never saw it coming.

A warning from the description:

I also wonder how the cheek weld is?...

:barf:Who, in God's name, would do such a thing. I can't get this sick picture out of my head.:what::barf:

October 8, 2008, 02:09 AM
Wow that makes the local gun show gun look like gems.

October 8, 2008, 02:13 AM
Once you've seen it, you can't un-see it...

October 8, 2008, 02:22 AM
That is so kewl!!! That's just the kind of thing I've been looking for for some retail center tactical ops.

October 8, 2008, 02:25 AM
wow, just wow.

October 8, 2008, 02:51 AM
I also wonder how the cheek weld is?...

Once you get past the silliness of it all, it's not that bad a rifle. Something akin to the Scout Rifle concept - forward-mounted scope, full power cartridge, stripper-clip loading, shortish barrel... might qualify as 'fugly but functional.'

October 8, 2008, 04:02 AM
Heh. with that 2 story building on the front of the rifle, looks more like an axe then a rifle....

Probably better as one too...

It burns! It burns!!!!!!

October 8, 2008, 05:22 AM
My, bubba has been busy. :what:

October 8, 2008, 05:32 AM
I like the concept and creativity, it's just a shame to have been done to a classic Mauser. The way the cheek pad is tacked on kind of seems 'Mad Max'. I'd go for the concept more if it was in 7.62x51 and was a configuration that accepted removable box magazines, but come to think of it, I just really want the Springfield SOCOM scout dealie, and could make that use a standard M-16 bayonet.

:barf::barf::barf: Bubba, what have you done?!

October 8, 2008, 10:26 AM
Anyone else notice that in the fine print he mentions that the auction does not include the scope, flashlight switch, sling, stripper clips, ect?

October 8, 2008, 10:27 AM
Good grief!

Just because you can doesn't mean you should!

October 8, 2008, 10:29 AM
Gotta agree with a couple other folks here. It's ugly, and it's a shame it was done to a Mauser, but what's the difference in that and a bunch of other "scout" rifles?

Yea. Sometimes "Bubba" gets things done. It might not be pretty, but it works.

October 8, 2008, 10:30 AM
can anyone post the picture? can not see gunbroker at work... :) thx

October 8, 2008, 10:37 AM
What an abortion! :barf:

we now know what happens when 'bubba goes bad'. that is butt ugly. but if it shoots good, no one will notice in the dark.

anyone alerted Gecko45 where his gun is?

the wheel barrel has yet to be tacticalized. possibly on his list of to do's. (he needs a intervention--soon)

October 8, 2008, 10:50 AM
It's missing the trench magazine.

Can't be truly tactical without that.

No kiddin. That would be another item that doesn't actually come with your rifle.

I am a fan of the scout rifle concept, but the optic he chose is all wrong. A Burris or Leupold EER would have been a better option.

The funny thing is, his other auctions are reasonable.

October 8, 2008, 11:01 AM
I really can't figure out any LOGICAL reason why he didn't just drop the thing into one of those ATI Mauser stocks.

Of course that probably just means that there isn't a logical reason to it.

October 8, 2008, 11:04 AM
I figure honestly that with the other reasonable auctions, that he put that thing up as a joke - if it sells, it sells.

Every forum that looks at it will have enough people who look at his other stuff, and increase his chance of selling that stuff.

What people do when they have too much free time and are really bored.

That's only semi-cool. If only it had a pistol grip, it could well be the perfect gun.

Anyone notice the tactical wheelbarrow in the background?

October 8, 2008, 06:57 PM
I'm utterly amazed by ignorance that goes so far that it bypasses stupid!:barf::banghead::fire::cuss::(

October 8, 2008, 08:00 PM
Wow, that is awful. Is this guy planning on shooting at 1000 yards with that thing? He must have enough elevation in that scope mount to do it. I think even with that god awful pad he tacked on you would have to raise your head up a bit to see the reticle.

I'd say its as bad as the tactical mosin, maybe it gets some bonus points for the bayonet mount...
Just begs the question, why in the hell would you put a pistol grip on a bolt action weapon?

October 8, 2008, 08:05 PM
I will not be able to sleep tonight. I am going downstairs to hug my rifles.

October 8, 2008, 08:09 PM
The guy made an 8mm FR-8. Spain made thousands of them, just in x51. When someone posts a picture of them, everybody is all like "oh, man, where can I get one of those.

I now wish I had taken a picture of the chopped Turk I saw at the gunshow a couple weeks ago. That dude had even managed to get an M44 bayo mounted to it. The fellow selling had it labelled as a "paraTurk". We both had a good laugh.

To those that ask "why?": if you've got to ask, you just don't get it.

October 8, 2008, 08:16 PM
O, what horror hath Bubba wrought!

And to top it all off, the floor-plate says "TACTICAL SPORTER." Good grief.

October 8, 2008, 09:27 PM
uh, I know it says it doesn't come w/ the rifle, but since when is an ACOG long eye relief??

October 8, 2008, 10:14 PM
when will they learn!!!!!!

October 8, 2008, 10:41 PM
geeez. thats like painting a delorean.
Yep, seen that done too.
