Looks like you identified it, probably a rebranded Kevin.

Anything to make typically non-gunnie demographics like women interested in shooting and carrying is a good thing, even if it means that a perfectly serviceable design must be finished as if it were a christmas tree ornament, a really ugly one.

Why that, then? ;)

I don't know, it looks hideous to me but the gold trigger, gold barrel, gold writing, and shiny colorful finish all appeal to people with "different" taste in firearms aesthetics, like, say, my wife. She actually told me my CZ 97B, pre-forward serrations, wood grips, and my CZ PCR, with Coco Bolo grips were "ugly guns", but that my FNP-9M plastic fantastic isn't! I can't figure out her reasoning at all! That said, I think my FNP is beautiful, but I think the same thing about my CZs.

Fortunately, I'm not one of them.

The wife likes it, and to be honest so do I...lol. I have no probs with flashy or different finishes on guns, just as I don't on boats, bikes, and vehicles. To each his own it's all good. Shoot, I'll prolly own one of those little Taurus pt-22 buggers with the blued finish, gold accents, and rosewood grips...but I have been told for many years I am sort of strange.

I am not sure if the MR is a rebranded Kevin though. It may be, but I am thinking the slide is has different face contour and such. Maybe a Kevin with MR slide maybe? Ya suppose? Maybe?

Let us remember that the "Micro Eagle" - the gun actually being discussed;) - is not the one with the "broiler pan" finish. (I hope! :uhoh:)

Very interesting. I'll be eager to read the reviews! Shame I just bought a PA-63 for my CCW. Oh well, maybe next year.:D

I had both my wife's Walther P22 pistols (one 4" and one 5" barrel) "pinked out" to be unique and to cater to her fashion interests. The slides and triggers were Duracoated a "serious" pink, and she loves them. And when she is happy, I am happy!

Ps: I have never heard of the Micro Eagle, but am anxiously awaiting someone's range report.

Both of those are hideous chunks of iron. I'd still love to try one out however.

Magnum is supposed to release their gun in the next few months.

I think the blue one looks cool. You guys who whine and piss about how ugly it is are just a bunch of crotchety old fart-bags.

Let's go back to the OP's topic...
The pistol is being manufactured originally by a Czech company, called ZVI.
It is a straight blow back, .380 ACP, external hammer fired, DAO pistol with out a second strike capability.
It does not have a manuel safety, nor an automatic firing pin blocking safety device.
The slide does not lock back after the last round.
The magazine catch is located as a traditional American one.
It has an externally fluted, and a compansated barrel with two exhaust holes just in front of the chamber.
It has a double recoil spring located as the venerable Walther P38 and P5.
It has two recoil buffers on the frame.
The pistol features plain fixed sights.
It has a 6+1 capacity.
The fit, finish and workmanship is top notch, exactly.

To take down the pistol, the locking lug under the barrel should be aligned with its take down notcth on the slide, and the barrel should be turned counter clockwise. Then just take out the slide from the frame.

The trigger is a pretty heavy, but managable DAO without second strike capability .
Recoil is mild and it is not diffucult make accurate, fast successive shots.
But the flush from the compansating holes is annoying.
The pistol is completely reliable with the FMJ ammo, but I can not give any comments about reliability with the other types of bullets.
Regards.

I still think it looks pretty cool.

Czech it out: this October, Magnum Research plans to release a an uber-light .380acp pocket pistol called the Micro Eagle. The new Micro Eagle is based on a Czech design and supposedly weighs less than 14 ounces! It has a 6-round capacity and should retail for around $535, with dealer pricing around $435. Shoot me an e-mail if you'd like to get on the waiting list for this hot new pistol: evan@onpointfirearms.com (mailto:evan@onpointfirearms.com)

Last.

I love my KT's, but I'm under no illusion that the little 8 ounce pistol is going to last forever.

This little critter is in the same class as the NAA Guardian and LWS pistols. High-quality, all-metal mousegun built to last a lifetime.

That said, I'm not about to trade my P3 in on one. I like the featherweight. If I'm gonna carry something heavier and bulkier, it'll be my S&W CS45.

Have to be made here - no way that thing get's in under GCA 68!

It has to be heavier than a Kel-tec since it's a blowback gun. Saying that makes it higher quality is like saying a Hi-point is better than a Glock.
