I go on THR at work. For some reason this site is not filtered out,but other gun related forums and sites are.Is there any way around the filter??Keep it simple because I'm simple.
I just found out by accident that I could even get on THR,hopefully they won't find out and filter IT....

Maybe if you go through a proxy server...I dunno I'm more a hardware guy than software. Something to try though.

Tony, there ARE ways around the company filter, but I don't advise it. In most companies, you'll get in plenty of trouble (maybe even being fired) for successfully circumventing their filtering. Go to a 'bad' site that they forgot to fileter, and they'll just add it to the filter list. Hack the filter and you tick them off.

I'd just keep quiet and enjoy THR, if'n I wus you.

Not that I would encourage anyone to evade or disable filtering systems at work, but you might look in this thread (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24488).

I allow all traffic out to gun related sites for my WAN :)

You try to bypass the filters, or ANY of the security measures, at my company, and you're out the door.

I'm in the same position. Virtually all gun sites are filtered, except THR.

mike, it's the same where I work too, but I control the entire LAN and WAN, so I allow traffic out to firearms related sites because there is nothing wrong with it. Now I do filter out the porn and other useless crap like that, but if it's not illegal, it's open.
