As the title implies, I'd like to get all of the highlights of the 835 barrel for my Maverick 88-the overboring, the porting near the muzzle. Anyone sell a barrel like this, or can it simply be swapped out from an 835 (I doubt that, though). TIA,
John917v

The two barrels don't interchange. Having the work mentioned done on your 88 barrel would exceed the cost of a new Maverick--maybe by 200%. Browning BPS(pump)shotguns have the overbored barrel and are sold discounted at some box stores like Academy.

Although your Maverick is a very good shotgun, it is not one to spend money on. Enjoy it as it came to you--budget priced and ready to roll.

I can't tell the difference in recoil between ported or not versions, though many folks can.

Oh. Yeah, you're right. At that cost, I'm better off just buying an 835! And if I got the work done to my barrel, I wouldn't be able to reliably shoot slugs through it, something I love to do. I had thought of an aftermarket barrel, that is made overbored and ported from the factory.
