Alright, I need some opinions on this one.

I have a client, who knows im into firearms, and he recently made an offer to me on a really nice rifle.

Im not a big weatherby guy, and I really dont know the value of this setup, so I was hoping I could get some opinions.

It is a Weatherby Mark V 300 mag.
Serial # 15,000
Original "Weatherby" marked scope, made in germany.
Original Sheepskin Boyt Case.

Only 2 rounds have ever been fired through the rifle.
All paperwork is included, along with the original box of ammo, and receipt for said box. (with only 2 empty cartridges)

Anyone want to take a stab at value? If there is some true collectibility to it?

As I said, not really a weatherby guy, and truly I dont even own a 300mag.

I have no idea what I would do with the rifle, other than keep it as an investment? Maybe shoot it once or twice. It would likely just take up space in the safe.

Most likely caliber does matter as far as value. 300 Wthby Mag is probably pretty common. Probably $1000-$1200ish. Maybe as high as $1500 if it is really really nice. Mostly guessing so don't quote me on this.

I was at Gander Mountain here in Michigan about 2 weeks ago buying a Marlin 39A. An elderly gentleman was standing there getting a quote for his German-made Mark V, Deluxe, in .300 Wea. Mag, with scope and rings. Gander Mountain offered him $995.00 for the whole package. I suggested to him that he list it on-line, and gave him THR's web address.

His rifle was flawless.
