A few months ago I read about a portable wooden press mount. I believe that it was in one of the NRA publications, maybe Shooting Illustrated. I believe the company that made it was located back east. The press was mounted in a box that had a felt bottom.

To make a long story less boring, my wife cleaned up and now the magazine is gone. Does anyone here remember seeing that products or have the company name or website?

Thanks,

Matt

Nope, but a Black and Decker Workmate makes a good portable bench.

Don't ya love it when they don't like where you put stuff. They 1 toss it or 2 put it someplace else.....they just cant remember where.

My wife leaves my stuff alone. If it getts to bad everything goes into a box and put on my chair to be taken care of. Then after everything is put away she gets to help me find where I put whatever I'm looking for.

Midway sales a small table that does a pretty good job, it brakes down into three pieces, and you can buy additional tops for it. I use mine for all kinds of things. You won’t be able to mount a 650 on it but as long as your not sizing 50BMG’s it should do ok.

I made one just like that. Took a 2x12, and cut 3 24" lengths. Lightly sanded it, countersunk holes in the bottom (the bolts attatch the press from the bottom up) and then felted the bottom. I put my shotgun loader on one, my single stage on one, and my Dillon 450 on the third. Whichever one I'm using gets clamped to the table, the other two sit on shelves in the closet.

Sinclair sold a portable wooden mount. Something like this picture from the Sinclair site. I've seen hinged boxes on E-Bay that swung open for use and shut for transport but they were all AFAIK home made

I believe the above may be what you are refering to. I noticed it on Page 36 of the NRA's American Rifleman (August)and checked it out at www.woodchuckden.com It's listed in the middle of page 2 of their 8 page catalog.
