I have a SA Champion that has been a problem. It was jamming a good bit so I put tension on the extractor. After 300 rounds it seemed ok. I then replaced the extractor with a Wilson BP extractor and after 200 rounds with only one jam which I am now thinking is mag related. I do notice now that I am getting brass coloring on the ejection port at the recess to the rear. Is this normal? It ejects them about 6 feet. Any thoughts?

Yea, that is pretty typical. It will come off if you keep it oiled for a few days and wipe it down.

rblack,
Thanks, I thought it probablt was. I know one thing for sure. It takes more to tension a BP extractor than it does the stock one. I was wondering if it would benefit the gun to install a FL guide rod?:)

The Champion has had several guide rod set ups over the years. My current one is of late manf. and has a full length set up with dual springs, but on an older one it had a single spring with a reverse plug. Both shoot the same, so I don't think you would benefit much if any from a full length rod.
