In response to the comment " look how many of these pistols are foe sale ". I am aware of the spotty history and quality issues on the automag, but it is such a cool idea, a .22 mag, stainless, good looking, that I couldn't resist an impulse to " see for myself ". My main reason for posting AND posting the pictures of the ramp / throat end of the barrel was in hopes of hearing whether other automag II owners also had this little 1mm ridge to jump. If others were all made with a 1mm wall to cross on the way from mag to ramp to barrel I would see one basic flaw to overcome. Well, I just picked up my throated barrel and have re-assembled my pistol and will see what happens tomorrow when I try it out. Still hopeful, Phosco.....and who knows, maybe it'll be for sale next.

Phosco, mine has the same ridge. These autos are generally ammo specific, winchester super X, I think. However try a few different brands and see what happens, keep it clean and well lubed. Good luck!
