Lanyard ?

I read the thread on lanyards and decided I'd like to try one on my P90 before I invest in a lanyard loop MSH for my SA 1911A1. Does anybody know a good source for a lanyard? I saw the one at Blackhawk but would rather experiment on a cheaper scale :) . GI surplus or foreign military would suit me fine. Any advice would be much appreciated, also.

Make one with 550 cord and a large fishing swivel in black.

Sponman,
Go to www.rangerjoes.com and do a search for 'lanyard'. They sell GI pistol lanyards for $5.50.
Here's a link to the page: lanyard (http://www.rangerjoes.com/catalog/selection.cfm?category=main&id=2351)

Good piece of GI gear! It helped keep my Uncle Sam issue M1911A1 and M9 secured to my person for many years!

Lightfighter sells the GemTech lanyard, a little more to date than the standard para cord type. I have used that on my 228.

The nice thing about the GemTech lanyard is that it has a breakaway design. Put a fair amount of force on it and it will break. I use one while on a boat, and having the lanyard get tangled on deck gear and pinning me under the boat in the event of a capsize, would be bad. So that way I can release myself from an entanglement. Sure I lose the gun, but the alternative is losing my life. But for most folks any kind is fine.
