Just randomly googled them after seeing them mentioned in another thread. What's the deal here? Special cartridges?

Yes, they are proprietary cartridges designed and produced by the Lazzeroni rifle company. Most are high performance types, along the lines of the original Weatherby magnums.

They are, but not as much as he makes them out to be unfortunately. :( The last time I looked the velocities were all taken from 27" barrels, and at at an altitude of 3000' or something along those lines. :(
