Security Six ejector rod play

I just bought a 4" Security Six and the revolver seemed to check out okay. There was zero end shake, less than any Ruger or S&W I have handled, but the ejector rod seemed to have more play then any of the S&W revolvers I have handled. I don't have much experience with Rugers but it seemed like it was by design so I went ahead with the purchase.. The rod was straight but it would move side to side if I applied pressure. Is this normal for the SS design?

In my experience, it is normal. Shoot it and enjoy it.

Mine is the same way. Hasn't presented any problems.

yep, just cleaned mine today and it has some play in it!
