Cabela's Hawken manual?

This past weekend I found a percussion Hawken in .50 in Cabela's "Bargain Cave" for a great price. It had been a display gun and other than a tiny scratch here and there from handling it's in great shape. The clincher was it was a percussion for a left handed shooter.

With cross hand/eye dominance, anytime I see a gun designed for a lefty I'm interested.

It has a 1:48 twist so I'm thinking I can shoot patched balls and Minie balls with that set up? I am pretty new to BP shooting and my only other BP rifle now is a .50 Traditions Kentucky Rifle kit (1:66 twist - patched ball only) that I'm about half done assembling and finishing.

But, since it was in the Brargain Cave they had no box, no paperwork on it and Cabela's has nothing on it on their web site as far as recommended loads or a manual.

It's made by Investarms in Italy but they don't have much on their website either except a totally generic muzzleloading "manual" fraught with typos and mispellings!

(I admit it was kind of fun walking through the store and out to the car with the rifle parked on my hip. Earned me a few sidelong glances and a couple of "nice rifle comments and smiles too.)

Anyone else have one of these in right or left hand configuration?

Any paperwork I should definitely have or is common sense and any other .50 BP manual on loads good enough?

Thanks guys.

Investarms also makes the Lyman guns for which there's a generic manual that covers all of their models.
Maybe it's a better manual.

Follow these instructions to find it:

Start on the index page, then click on the black powder button (at the top) to get to the page that advertises the guns. Then click on the Adobe Acrobat icon beside the words that read "Instructions Click Here" below a gun. That opens a pdf of the users manual, and all lead to the same file - a combined manual for all of them.

Here's the link to the index page.

I have a flinter by Cabela, I have that Investarms loading book for it. I can scan you a copy or just make a copy at work and mail it to you.
