Looking for Combo pistol grip/shoulder stock

I have seen several TV shows (movies) that have a shotgun with a combo pistol grip/shoulder stock. Yet, I seem to be unable to find one for a Mossberg 500. Maybe I'm just calling it the wrong thing because searching on the internet is turning up nothing. I know someone here will know what to call it and where to get it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Michael.

Or you can try the stock seen below (the speedfeed referenced in the previous post) at the following link: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=12704

If it were me, I'd pick the Choate. It's SLIGHTLY cheaper and I prefer the styling of the Choate. It also seems to fit my hand better. For $10 more you can get the Speedfeed with cheesy stock ammo holders. I personally don't like these, but it might help your decision process some. Choate also sells a side-folding stock for the Mossberg which I wouldn't consider myself.

Why is it that people buy mossberg 500s (which have a wonderful and perfectly serviceable tang safety) and put pistol grip stocks on them, thereby rendering the safety darn near useless?
Leave the stock alone, and use the money to buy ammo or a class so you can learn to use the weapon as it was designed. if you want to get a PG stock, get a Maverick, WInchester Defender, or 870.

Mine came with a pistol grip when purchased (Model is a Mossberg Cruiser: 8+1 capacity, 20 in barrel, heat shield, however most people know it as a Persuader) – no shoulder stock. I borrowed a shoulder stock from a buddy who's SG came with both. He now wants the shoulder stock back, so I am either buying one from Mossberg or seeing what else is available. I have been to the range over the past year regularly with both stocks and would prefer both in one unit.
I do understand what you mean by not utilizing the safety – I think it is just a matter of practice that becomes a habit. I was about twelve when I started hunting and had various lessons drilled into me until they became second nature and you could do it without fumbling around. As taught, I always start with safety on, at ready position. As the gun comes to bear – the thumb takes the safety off, and index finger goes parallel to finger guard. Once finished firing, as the unit returns to ready - index finger returns to stock, thumb activates safety. Slight variations for O/U, SxS or single shot breach load.
Thanks for the replies.
Michael.

Ah, but Andrew agrees with you. With the PG shoulder stock installed, you cannot do this. The stock gets in your way. You either have to move your right hand off the grip or disengage the safety with your left hand. Since I have a PG Ithaca as the only so-configured gun and it has all the controls in the CORRECT PLACE, this didn't even come to mind, but he's right. You'll find it cumbersome to operate the safety with either of the above stocks installed. I'd suggest a good standard stock instead for the utility of the safety.

Andrew and I have disagreed on some Mossberg stuff in the past and this is another one. I have a M500 with a full-stock with PG. It is now very easy and fast for me to work the tang mounted safety even with the PG. The PG winds up feeling like a thick part of the stock... fingers in front, thumb up above on the tang... I can fire accurately that way for dozens of rounds... at some point, usually while doing a tactical reload, move my thumb under and onto the PG. The M500 standard stock's grip area is not vertical enough for my sweat-slippery hands to reliably pull tight into my shoulder, hence my preference for the very vertical PG stock. YMMV.

Forgot to mention... if you want a low cost stock to experiment with, check out the Tacstar at CheaperThanDirt.com. You might want to rough up the grip's plastic with a rasp, but otherwise it has served me well.
