I'm considering getting rid of what I know to be a rare Steyr variant. Styer in Austria can only tell me early mid 80's manufacture and that it was not part of a regular run.Ie was imported through Guns South and what I was told was that they had a few made up as an Alaskan guide gun. An employee from when they still imported Steyr gave me a ballpark of $3.500.00 as far as a current value but doesn't remember much more than just a handful were made. I would appreciate any feedback you may have on this 20" 375 H&H Mod. S before I post it in the trading post. I'm in the south Florida area and had one offer of 2k before my 401K decided to go further south. It has been fired, 1 box of ammo at a range, any thought of a trip to Africa went bye-bye after I got married... I'll try to get some shots up later.

Guaranteed, you will want it back after (if) you sell it.

Seriously, sir. I'm kindly asking you to take The High Road and keep your rifle. :D ;)

If you don't shoot it much, and it has little sentimental value....

I assume the funds would go to fund other lead delivery projects, right? :D

It is a tuff decision, wide format printer for my photography fix or more lead delivery systems. Then again, I really got a kick (pun intended) out of the reaction to the muzzle blast it produces at the range:evil:

I recently parted with an M in .30-06 of similar vintage, same importer, and while mine was much more common (listed for I think $1500 new?) let's just say you're not going to get good value in this market.
I've had several good sized buyers tell me recently that they feel that they can be merciless with sellers due to a relative glut of panic sellers. One told me that he was ashamed of himself for what he'd paid for guns he bought last week. This is an excellent time to sit on your guns and keep your fingers crossed.
